Alejandra Cardenas, known musically as Ale Hop, is a Peruvian artist and researcher based in Berlin since 2015; she is currently pursuing a doctorate at the UdK (Berlin University of the Arts), where she also teaches as a visiting professor in Sound Studies. Her music blends electric guitar with electronics, most recently on *Agua Dulce* (2023, with Laura Robles) and *Mapambazuko* (2025, with Titi Bakorta). She is a co-founder of the Radical Sounds Latin America festival and co-editor of *Switched On: The Dawn of Electronic Sound by Latin American Women*. Her research reconstructs the lineages of electronic music invention that have been excluded from the canon—and examines why this is no coincidence. In doing so, she addresses the very level where it is determined what a model actually „knows“: whose sounds, instruments, and listening habits are embedded in the data from which systems learn—and whose are missing.

As part of the MA INTER project Ars Augmentata (wise 2026/27) Alejandra Cardenas is invited for an A.I. Expert Session. She will give a talk and do a workshop.
