a cooperation project with Kober and ARWENN
Kober produces porcelain and technical ceramics in Bavaria.
ARWENN is a new German brand that opens its first shop in Berlin in October and works with upcoming designers.
During this semester, you will design and gain insight into what it means to launch a design label with a fresh vision, at a time when companies increasingly disappear.
PROJECT:
Design a relevant, reproducable, ceramic product for the end customer,
– that can be produced by KOBER for ARWENN
– work with one production method of KOBER, see
– keep in mind the core principles of ARWENN, see
At the final presentation max 3 projects will be picked to be produced and ready for a launch in autumn 2027.
PLANNING
12. oct: 16.00h: kick off at ARWENN store Friedrichstrasse 172
13.-14. oct: excursion to Kober in Steinwiesen
16 oct: 18.00-22.00h, official opening of ARWENN store (you are all are on the rsvp list)
• 20, 27 oct and 3, 10, 17, 23 nov, 13.00h: at least 3 meet ups with Ineke and/or Mathia
• 30 nov: 13.30h: interim presentation of concepts with ARWENN & KOBER at ARWENN’s Berlin store
• 8, 15 dec and 12 jan, 13.00h: 1 or 2 meet ups with Ineke and/or Mathias
• 18 jan: 13.30h: final presentation of prototypes and selection of ~3 projects for production with ARWENN & KOBER at ARWENN’s Berlin store
• spring 2027: a festive exhibition of all concepts at the ARWENN store (10 or 12 Feb. tbc)
• autumn 2027: launch new projects (aim: currents.berlin / design days.berlin)
