Basics for Design for Manufacturing
+ Design for Assembly
This hands-on course explores contemporary FDM and SLA 3D printing, from digital design and preparation to printing, assembly, and post-processing. Students learn how to design specifically for additive manufacturing through Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), working with tolerances, materials, support structures, and different fabrication strategies.
Through practical exercises and experimentation, students develop their skills while exploring how 3D printing can be used to create models, functional parts, tools, and assemblies.
