Within the semester project CASTAWAY, we will use resin 3D printing for casting applications, producing jewelry, accessories and small objects.
Given the varying complexity of different technologies and your busy schedules course timings may fluctuate. Please refer to the schedule on the FabLab door for updates.
Objectives:
a) deepen your understanding of contemporary 3D printing technologies by expanding your skillset in resin-based processes, soft material printing, and generative design workflows using grasshopper.
b) develop the ability to safely operate in-house 3D printers while gaining practical experience in post-processing techniques such as smoothing, coating, polishing, and plastic welding.
c) build both foundational and advanced knowledge in 3D printing, accommodating different levels of experience while supporting individual approaches to prototyping, casting, and small-scale fabrication.
