EINFACH GUT – UdK & friends

a presentation of product design students
of UdK Berlin, HFG KARLSRUHE, HBK SAAR

Located next to the Hansaviertel – the central hub of ‘Currents. Design in Berlin’ – the Institute for Product and Process Design at the Berlin University of the Arts is, of course, opening its doors.

However, during this new event, geared to show and connect a broad spectrum of design and its community, UdK product design collaborates with the design programms at the HfG Karlsruhe and HbK-Saar.

Over the course of three days, students of Wieki Somers, Studio Œ (Anne-Sophie Oberkrome & Lisa Ertel), Chris Kabel, Mischer’Traxler and Valentina Karga (HfG-Karlsruhe), Mark Braun, Maike Fraas (HBK Saar), Ineke Hans, Mathias Hahn and Julia Läufer (UdK Berlin) present a mix of semester projects and graduation work: experimental, material-focused, social, digital and industrial projects.

The title and common thread running through the projects is not meant to be pretentious, but rather reassuring: EINFACH GUT.

LINKed

Design is linked to society
but design has many attitudes
and…
designers themselves are also linked
to other designers, befriended, but with different attitudes

During CURRENTS.BERLIN, geared to show and connect a broad spectrum of design and its community, UdK product design collaborates with the design programs at HfG Karlsruhe and HbK-Saar.

How do their young designers link to society?
what are their attitudes?
and…
can new attitudes grow and offer different insights
by linking those students during their studies to future colleagues?
