Das unausweichliche Endstadium jedes guten Designs liegt in der Modularität. Doch den Schuhmarkt haben bisher ausschließlich modulare Sneaker erreicht. Sie drängen sich durch eine hyper-technische Ästhetik auf und scheitern am bestehenden Recyclingsystem.
Das Projekt unglued rückt echte Reparierbarkeit in den Vordergrund und ist deshalb an den typischen Verschleißstellen modular zusammengesetzt. Der klassische Halbschuh besteht aus Verschnittleder-Segmenten, die durch einen Steckmechanismus zwischen der 3D-gedruckten Innen- und Außensohle verklemmt werden. Das System bietet zudem die Plattform für unterschiedlichste Schuhtypologien.

The inevitable final stage of any good design is modularity. Yet, the footwear market has so far been exclusively dominated by modular sneakers. They demand attention with a hyper-technical aesthetic and ultimately fail within existing recycling systems.
The project unglued brings true repairability to the forefront, featuring a modular construction specifically at the shoe’s typical wear-and-tear points. The classic shoe consists of segments crafted from leather offcuts, securely clamped together by an interlocking mechanism between the 3D-printed insole and outsole. Additionally, the system serves as a versatile platform for a wide variety of footwear typologies.
