Asphalt usually belongs to the ground: outside, under pressure, and beneath notice. This project lifts it into domestic space and gives it a reflective function.
A material where aging is immediately visible becomes the access to reflection. Rough surface meets fragile mirror; public ground meets private ritual. Shaped through a casting process with road workers, the object shifts perspective from damage to evidence, from imperfection to authenticity, from a surface we pass over to one we look into.

Asphalt gehört normalerweise auf den Boden: nach draußen, unter Druck und kaum beachtet. Dieses Projekt hebt ihn in den Innenraum und gibt ihm eine spiegelnde Funktion.
Ein Material, an dem Alterung sofort sichtbar wird, wird zum Zugang zur Reflexion. Raue Oberfläche trifft auf fragilen Spiegel; öffentlicher Boden trifft auf private Routine. Geformt durch einen Gussprozess mit Straßenbauarbeitern, verschiebt das Objekt die Perspektive: von Schaden zu Spur, von Unvollkommenheit zu Authentizität, von einer Oberfläche, über die wir hinweggehen, zu einer, in die wir hineinschauen.
