Future Ceramics – Table Culture of the Future at the Museum of Decorative Arts
How will people live in the future? And how will they eat and drink—what everyday rituals of dining culture might emerge by the year 2101?
Students Design & Social Context from the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) have explored these questions in depth during the seminar „2101 – FUTURE CERAMICS | Dining Culture of the Future,“ led by Julia Läufer & Justus Hilfenhaus in Wintersemester 2012/26.
Twelve of these projects are now on display as part of the permanent exhibition at Berlin’s Museum of Decorative Arts (KGM). Today, we are speaking with Claudia Kanowski—curator of the „2101 – FUTURE CERAMICS | Dining Culture of the Future“ exhibition at the museum—about communal dining in the future, experimental tableware, perfect materials, and visionary concepts.
